The strength and quality of concrete and its ancillary materials for any construction goes down with their age due to various factors surrounding the structures. Basically a structure has been design for a period of 80 to 100 years. But as various natural or man made factors like, presence of honeycomb in the structure, proper concrete, chlorination effect, sulphure effect etc. the strength may be decrease slowly after certain ages. So, to ensure proper strength of the structure non destructive tests are done without affecting the structural members.
